AIRPORT AUTHORITY BOARD

Three representatives from Weld County, three representatives from the City of Greeley, and one jointly appointed member recommended by the Airport Authority serve on this board. Directs organization and administration of airport. 7 members with four-year terms. Time commitment 4 hours monthly.  Meets the third Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m.

AREA AGENCY ON AGING

Monitors all programs for the elderly funded under the Older Americans Act. Advises the county commissioners regarding funding services for the elderly such as home health care, transportation, legal services, and nutrition. 16-18 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 4 hours monthly.  Meets the second Thursday every month at 9:00 a.m.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

Conducts hearings and decides appeals from decisions concerning the administration or enforcement of the Weld County Zoning Ordinance. Interprets the location of zoning district boundaries and lot lines with respect to those boundaries. 5 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 6 hours annually. Meets when called on first Tuesdays of month at 11:00 a.m.

BUILDING TRADES ADVISORY BOARD

Acts as a citizen advisory board to review proposed changes in the Weld County Building Code Ordinance. Reviews complaints relating to the administration and enforcement of the ordinance. Serves as a communications link between the county and the construction industry.  11 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 6 hours annually. Meets the third Thursday of April and October at 5:30 p.m.

CHILD PROTECTION CITIZEN REVIEW PANEL

Makes recommendations on grievances filed regarding the conduct of Human Services employees. Limited background check conducted prior to appointment. 5 members plus alternates with three-year terms. Time commitment 3 hours annually. Meets when called.

COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS ADVISORY BOARD

Diverts nonviolent property offenders from the prison system. The program serves offenders who are not at high risk for becoming repeat offenders while in some community corrections program. Aids offenders in employment, education, and vocational training programs.  7 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 10 hours monthly. Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon.

EXTENSION ADVISORY COUNCIL

Advises the Extension Service regarding their program efforts and budget decisions. Provides participation in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Extension programs. Serves as a communication link between legislators, commissioners, and citizens. 7 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 3 hours monthly. Meets the third Thursday of every other month at noon.

FAIR BOARD

Conducts the Weld County Fair. Junior exhibits of Weld County 4-H and FFA programs and open class competitions participate in the fair. 21 members with three-year terms. Meets monthly the 1st Monday at 7:00 p.m. Time commitment 4 hours monthly plus fair participation.

FAITH PARTNERSHIP COUNCIL

Advises county commissioners on strategic recommendations from a faith-based and community-based perspective regarding issues of concern. Up to 15 members including geographic representation of the faith community. Meets monthly the 2ndThursday at 7:30 a.m. Time commitment 2 hours monthly.

FAMILIES, YOUTH, AND CHILDREN COMMISSION

Advises county commissioners regarding various areas of child welfare, primarily services to families and children. Meetings are scheduled quarterly with monthly subcommittee meetings.  18 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 3 hours monthly. Meets quarterly, the second Friday at 7:30 a.m.

GREELEY HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD

Responsible for the administrative and financial policies of the housing authorities. A salaried executive director is responsible for the daily operation of the authorities and reports to the authority monthly. 7 members with five-year terms, 2 of which are recommended by County Commissioners for appointment by Mayor of Greeley. Time commitment 2 hours monthly. Meets monthly the fourth Wednesday at 4:30 pm.

HEALTH  BOARD

Receives reports from the Health Department director and staff on programs and health issues affecting Weld County citizens. Considers bio-solid applications and Individual Sewage Disposal Systems and approves applications and holds hearings related to applications.  9 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 3 hours monthly. Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

Reviews and comments on the establishment and effectiveness of Human Services Division programs. Develops and recommends changes regarding the Comprehensive Employment and Training Plan. Advises commissioners regarding program goals, policies, and procedures.  15 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 1 hour monthly. Meets when called.

ISLAND GROVE PARK BOARD

Facilitates the promotion, management, maintenance, and operation of the City of Greeley and Weld County facilities at the Island Grove site. Makes policy recommendations to the city and county regarding use of the park and long-range plans for development of the facilities.  7 members with three year terms. Time commitment twelve hours per year. Meets the first Thursday every other month at 4:00 p.m. Applicants must live outside Greeley city limits.

JUVENILE COMMUNITY REVIEW BOARD

Encourages state and local government cooperation concerning adjudicated delinquent youth. Reviews specific youths proposed for community placement by the Division of Youth Services and accepts or rejects these recommendations. 7 regular members with three-year terms. Time commitment 2 hours monthly. Meets the third Monday of each month at noon when there are cases to be heard.

NORTH COLORADO MEDICAL CENTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Administers the lease of the hospital to North Colorado Medical Center, Inc. Serves as a liaison between NCMC, Inc. and the county commissioners. Identifies community needs concerning hospital services. 7 members with three year terms. Time commitment 2 hours monthly. Meets the last Monday of each month at noon.

NOXIOUS WEED MANAGEMENT ADVISORY BOARD

Advises county commissioners regarding integrated weed management on county and private property. Members must live within the unincorporated part of the county. At least a majority of members must own more than 40 acres of land in Weld County. 9 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 8 hours annually. Meets quarterly the third Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

PLANNING COMMISSION

Conducts hearings and advises county commissioners regarding land-use planning, zoning administration, and subdivision development within the county. Reviews and makes recommendations on land-use applications and amendments to policies and regulations.  9 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 5 hours monthly. Meets the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m.

WELD COUNTY BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS

Decides the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction. Interprets provisions of the Weld County Building Code but has no authority to waive requirements of the code. Members are qualified by experience and training in building construction. 7 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 2 hours annually. Meets when called.

WELD/LARIMER LOAN REVIEW COMMITTEE

Members represent Weld and Larimer Counties regarding loans for Community Development Block Grant funds. Review loan applications and serve as a credit committee for a loan program administered by Upstate Colorado Economic Development Board. Experience is required in finance, credit analysis, and small business. 3 Weld representatives with three-year terms.  Time commitment 10 hours annually. Meets when called.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD

Community and business representatives develop and implement system and program strategic planning on broad labor market issues. Considers strategic issues, long-range outcomes, and overall direction for Employment Services of Weld County. 21 members with three-year terms. Time commitment 3 hours monthly. Meets the third Tuesday quarterly at 11:30 a.m.
