TRAININGS:

Death Notifications DEATH NOTIFICATIONS:

Training and advice on the subject of informing the family of a death was provided to and specifically geared to the unique circumstances of EMT/Paramedics in that position. Class was given by Mark Ward, Weld County Deputy Coroner.

Radiologically Contaminated TrainingHandling of a Body/Human Remains that are Potentially Radiologically Contaminated.

Radiological Training for Emergency Responders the purpose of this Model Procedure is to identify precautions and provide guidance to Medical Examiners/Coroners on the handling of a body or human remains that are potentially contaminated with radioactive material from a transportation incident involving radioactive material. Program was taught by the Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program – U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Hosted by Weld County Coroners.

Professional Ethics PROFESSIONAL ETHICS IN THE WORK PLACE: 

Weld County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Ward, spoke to UNC Criminal Justice students about the importance of ethics in the workplace .

SCHOOL DEMONSTRATIONS:

Mock AccidentsMock Accidents

Weld County Deputy Coroner in conjunction with different school districts and local fire department will conduct a mock accident to demonstrate to the youth of dangers of Drinking and Driving.

 

Police Academy H.S. presentation Police Academy

Weld County Deputy Coroner Chris Robillard provides a power point presentation - Responsibilities of the Coroner to Frederick High School students for their Police Academy curriculum.

The Greeley Dream TeamThe Greeley Dream Team

(Educational Talent Search Summer Enrichment Program) welcomed 6th and 7th graders from around the District for a Day of Career Forum. There were several businesses and career orientated from the community (including Weld County Deputy Coroner – George Roosevelt) that volunteered their time to speak to the middle schoolers about possible careers and the importance of staying in school and receiving an education. Career Week - Trademark School Trademark School:

Career Week... Tom Shimp gave a presentation on the coroners role in the community to Trademark students for Career Week.

 Tailgate the Safety Way“Tailgate the Safety Way.”

“Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk.” It’s a phrase we hear regularly in the media.

The Weld County Coroner’s office has participated for the past several years by having a booth that showed scene photos and their levels of alcohol or drug use that might have contributed to their death.
