The District Attorney represents the people of the State of Colorado in all state criminal actions brought within the Nineteenth Judicial District, which coincides with the boundaries of Weld County. The office prosecutes both felony and misdemeanor charges and is composed of several divisions to meet the needs of the public.
The mission of the District Attorney’s Office is to seek justice by holding offenders accountable, protecting the rights of victims, and serving the community with honor and integrity to make Weld County safe.

I'm Michael Rourke, and I am very proud to be the District Attorney for Weld County. I, and every employee in the District Attorney’s Office, take very seriously our responsibility to promote public safety by prosecuting those individuals who commit crimes in our community. In our pursuit for justice, our employees are committed to doing the right thing, in the right way, for the right reason, on every case we handle. The responsibility to promote public safety also includes the duty, in conjunction with all of our law enforcement agencies, to engage in proactive measures to prevent crimes from being committed.
