Weld S.T.A.R (Sanitation Training Assistance for Restaurateurs)
WELD S.T.A.R (Sanitation Training Assistance for Restaurateurs) is a three hour food safety training course that covers the basic principles of food safety. The program is geared towards those that work in the food service industry, childcare centers, and anyone interested in learning more about serving food safely to the public or large groups. Topics include types of food borne illness, cross-contamination prevention, temperature controls, personal hygiene practices, and cleaning and sanitation techniques.The class is presented by the Consumer Protection Services Staff at Weld County Department of Public Health & Environment, Environmental Health Services.
Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Food Handlers card.
Private trainings may also be scheduled at your business establishment with a minimum of 20 participants and training facilities that will support our presentation and activities.

Weld S.T.A.R. II-Manager's Class
This food safety training course is geared towards owners, operators and managers of food service establishments. This course supports managements' commitment to maintain a clean, healthy, contaminate free dining experience for residents and patrons.
Program participants must have either a current Weld S.T.A.R. I card provided by Weld County or a current certification from another County or nationally recognized food service education program. This full-day workshop will cover managerial responsibilities, personal hygiene, employee health, contaminated equipment, foods from unsafe sources, improper holding temperatures and inadequate cooking, rodent & pest control, food defense and food allergies.

Food Safety Advisory Committee Meetings
- Networking meetings with Weld County retail food operators, consumers, members of the public and inspectors from the Weld County Department of Public Health & Environment. Meetings are held quarterly, are free to attend, and feature a topic of discussion. Upcoming meeting dates are as follows:
