Our mission is to help maintain an individual’s independence and dignity in their home and community.
The Weld County Area Agency on Aging (AAA), located in the Department of Human Services, receives funding from the Federal Older Americans Act and the Older Coloradoans Fund to provide services to Weld County residents who are 60 and older.
The Weld County AAA also houses the Long-Term Care Single Entry Point, Aging and Disability Resources for Colorado (ADRC) Program and Adult Protective Services for those ages 18 and older.
What are Area Agencies on Aging?
AAAs were established under the Older Americans Act (OAA) in 1973 to respond to the needs of Americans 60 and over in every local community.
AAAs make it possible for older adults to remain in their homes and communities as long as possible.
AAAs are part of a national network of agencies that provide services to any person age 60 or older without regard to income, sex or ethnicity.
There are 16 AAA’s in Colorado alone, and almost 41,000 adults aged 60 and over in Weld County (2012 SUA).
