Child Protection Intake:
The Child Protection Intake Unit is responsible for investigating allegations of abuse or neglect of children from birth until the age of 18.
The primary responsibility of the Intake Unit is to assess for safety and provide protection to children who are battered and abused, severely neglected, and/or dependent.
Child Protection Ongoing:
Should it be in the child’s best interest to be removed from the home due to issues of health and safety, the Child Protection Ongoing Unit will work with the parents to address these issues through use of a treatment plan with the end goal of reunifying the family, if at all possible.
