The primary objective of this program is to provide protective services to adults, age 18 and over, who are being exploited, abused, neglected, or are incompetent and need supervision. This unit also provides services to the aged and disabled in assisting them with Home Care Allowance. - Services are available to at-risk adults (18 years or older) in situations of actual or imminent abuse, self-neglect, caretaker neglect or exploitation.
- Services are provided to individuals who are unable to perform or obtain services necessary for health, safety or welfare.
Least Restrictive Intervention (LRI)
- Services are provided to individuals who lack sufficient understanding or capacity to make or to communicate responsible decisions concerning well-being or personal affairs.
- Services are to be of the shortest duration, and to the minimum extent necessary, to remedy or prevent situations of actual mistreatment or self-neglect.
