Employment First -- Food Stamp Job Search Program
Colorado Employment First increases employment for food assistance participants through support, referrals, accountability, and community work.
The Federal Bonding program is designed to serve as a tool to help secure job placement of ex-offenders and other high risk applicants.
The Trade Adjustment Assistance Program is available to those who have lost their jobs or who have had their hours and/or wages reduced as a result of increase foreign imports.
Workforce Investment Act –
In 1998 Congress passed the Workforce Invest Act (WIA), which replaced the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). The overall goal of this new federal employment and training legislation is to improve the employability of the United States workforce. It emphasizes a "work first" approach with training as a secondary strategy to immediate job placement.
