How can the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth Programs help me?
The WIA Youth Programs can help you in many different ways based upon individual needs. The goal of this program is to assist you in successfully completing high school or a GED program, as well as acquiring skills to obtain employment.
To help you reach these goals, the program can help you with the following services:

Comprehensive Guidance/Counseling - Occupational Skills Training
- Alternative School/GED
- Summer Employment
- Study Skills Training
- Dropout Prevention
- Follow-up Services
- Job Shadowing
- Adult Mentoring
- Leadership
- Tutoring
Am I eligible for the WIA Youth Programs?
To be eligible for the WIA Youth Programs, you need to meet federally established income guidelines and be between the ages of 16 and 21.
Applicants must also meet at least one of the following categories:
- Deficient in Basic Literacy Skills
- School Dropout
- Offender
- Homeless/Runaway/Foster Child
- Pregnant or Parenting Youth
