Family Medicaid is public health insurance for families, children, and pregnant women that are Colorado residents.
The program is funded jointly by a federal-state partnership and is administered by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.
Eligibility
Eligibility for Family Medicaid and CHP+ depends upon family size, income and the age of the applicant.
Gross income and family size are used in determining eligibility. Family income must be less than the need standard. The unborn child is considered a part of the household. Income can be verified for the current or preceding month depending upon the date of application.
There is no resource (asset) limit for Family Medicaid and Pregnant Women's Medicaid.
Who is eligible?

Financially qualified children ages 0-18 and parents with dependent children

Parents whose income is at or below 60% of the Federal Poverty Level

Children age 6-18 whose family income is at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level

Children under the age of 6 and pregnant women whose family income is at or below 133% of the Federal Poverty Level
Retroactive Medicaid Benefits
Medical benefits may be backdated up to 90-days from the date of application. Income must be verified for the calendar month, which includes the date of service within the backdated 90-day period.
