Oral interviews occur on the same day as the written examination. Results of the written examination will be posted by 10:00 a.m. and the oral interviews will begin promptly at 10:20 a.m., so candidates should come to the written examination prepared to move onto the oral interview. Interviews will occur every 20 minutes until 4:00 p.m. with a one hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In order for a candidate to move onto oral interviews, they must pass the written examination with a minimum score of at least 70%. However, just because a candidate passes the written examination with a score of 70%, does not automatically assure that the candidate will move onto an oral interview. There are a limited number of interview slots, and they are based on the top scores from the written examination.
If a candidate successfully passes the written examination and is in the top scores based on the number of oral interview slots, they will move onto their first oral interview. There the candidate will be interviewed by current employees at Weld County Paramedic Services.
During the oral interview, the candidate will be expected to answer several interview panel type questions and will be graded by the interview committee with each question.
