What is Weld Chat?

Weld Chat is an online forum where citizens can interact with Weld County employees to facilitate open communication about county services, policies, projects and programs. The chat room is moderated and will only be open during scheduled sessions. The topic is set by the moderator and only conversations deemed pertinent will be allowed.

How do I participate?

To participate in a chat room you will need to sign up for a display name. This display name will only be good for one session. If you want to join in any future chat sessions you will need to sign up again. To join a discussion:

  • Select a room from the list of available chat rooms. If the list is empty there are currently no available chat rooms or the rooms are full.
  • Create a display name. This name must be unique to the chat room and must be greater than three characters in length. Please remember that your display name will be visible to all members of the chat room. Only provide information that you are comfortable sharing.
  • Enter your email address. When you are finished registering you will receive an email with instructions on how to enter the chat room. If you do not receive an email please check your junk mail/spam folder before trying again. Weld County will not share your email with any third parties and your email address will not be displayed.
  • Read and acknowledge your agreement with the terms of use.
  • Hit the Enter Room button. You will be prompted with further login instructions.

What are the system requirements?

  • A valid email address.
  • A compatable internet browser. Weld Chat has been validated for IE6+, Firefox 3+, Opera 9+, Google Chrome 1+, Safari 3+.
  • Javascript needs to be enabled.
  • The Adobe Flash plugin.

Before entering the Weld County chat room, you must read and acknowledge the following rules of use.

All questions and comments must be related to the topic(s) stated by the moderators. Failure to adhere to this may result in your removal from the chat room by the moderator.

Postings deemed defamatory, threatening, disruptive or obscene by the moderators are prohibited. Repeated submission of disruptive comments may result in your removal from the chat room by the moderator.

By posting your questions and comments you are accepting legal responsibility for them.

The comments and opinions expressed by third persons in the chat room are not necessarily held by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, its officers and employees. It is your responsibility to determine whether your participation in the chat room should continue, particularly if you are offended by any of the comments and opinions expressed.
