Weld County - County Attorney
Bruce Barker, the
Weld County Attorney serves as legal advisor for the Board of County
Commissioners and all departments and divisions of Weld County
government. When directed by the Board, the County Attorney
represents Weld County, county officers, county employees, and
appointed boards and commissions and their members in suits, actions
and other legal proceedings. The Weld County Attorney is a full-time
position appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Board.
There are six full-time assistant county attorneys. One assistant,
Craig Emil enforces child support obligations.
Three assistants, Jim Pope, R. LeeAnn Reigrut, and Tom Joaquin handle cases
under the Colorado Children's Code, including dependency and neglect
cases. The remaining assistants, Stephanie Arries and
Cyndy Giauque render advice to
the elected county officials, handle matters in litigation, and work
on other matters assigned by the Weld County Attorney.
