The Department of Public Works provides for maintenance and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage facilities in the public right-of-way throughout Weld County.  Our Mission Statement reinforces this service description.

"Provide a safe and economical transportation infrastructure
to the traveling public."

The department is organized into three divisions – Operations, Engineering and Administration. The Operations Division is responsible for maintenance of the county’s roads, bridges and drainage facilities. It includes the following workgroups.

• Trucking
• Mining
• Bridge
• Pavement Management
• Maintenance Support
• Weed and Pest
• Motor Grader

The Engineering Division is responsible for design and administration of public improvements that occur within Weld County right-of-way.  It is organized into the following functional workgroups.

The Administration Division provides personnel, accounting and administrative support to the entire Public Works Department.
