Property taxes officially become delinquent on May 1 each year if not paid in full; if the half payment option is selected first half become delinquent March 1 and the second half becomes delinquent June 16. For payments received AFTER each deadline date, delinquent interest MUST be included in the amount submitted for payment. Interest is calculated as follows:

Certified funds are REQUIRED after September 19th.

All real property tax payments RECEIVED after mid September will be ADVERTISED as delinquent for public auction (Tax Lien Sale). Therefore, an additional $10.00 fee will be required to cover advertising expenses (amount is subject to change). Advertising will run for 3 consecutive weeks during the month of October.

What if my taxes are sold at Tax Lien Sale?

If your current year taxes remain unpaid, a tax lien will be issued against your property at Tax Lien Sale. THE PROPERTY ITSELF IS NOT SOLD AT TAX LIEN SALE! However, if your taxes remain unpaid for 3 consecutive years, a Treasurer's Deed may be issued. Please see Redemption of Tax Liens, Tax Lien Sale, Endorsement of Tax Liens, and Treasurer's Deed for additional information.

Interest is calculated monthly.
Please contact the Treasurer's Office at
(970) 353-3845 ext 3290 for current figures.
