Weld County Weed Division - Cost-Sharing Opportunity

The Weed Division has multiple cost-share opportunities available to landowners in unincorporated Weld County. Call 970-304-6496 ext. 3770 to make an appointment with a Landowner Specialist. The Landowner Specialist will visit your property to identify the noxious weeds present, develop an integrated management plan with you, as well as sign you up for the appropriate cost-share program. Cost-share money can only be used in range and pasture settings and in fallow ground. One cost-share program per landowner.

  1. Absinth wormwood. 80/20 split in cost-share money for the eradication of absinth wormwood. Maximum reimbursable from the County per year is $500.

  2. Dalmatian toadflax. 80/20 split in cost-share money for the control and/or eradication of Dalmatian toadflax. Maximum reimbursable from the County per year is $1,600.

  3. Colorado State Land Board. 50/50 split in cost-share on any designated noxious weeds on lands within 2 miles of Colorado State Land Board lands. Maximum reimbursable from the County is $400.

  4. West Greeley Conservation District. 50/50 split in cost-sharing on any designated noxious weeds on land within the WGCD taxing area. Maximum reimbursable from the County is $300. Decreasing amounts over three years.


  5. Weld County. 50/50 split in cost-sharing on any designated noxious weeds on land in unincorporated Weld County. Maximum reimbursable from the County is $300.

All cost-share programs cover the cost of chemical and commercial application if hired out. The commercial application must be done by a CO Dept. of Agriculture Commercial Operator licensed applicator.
