The Development Review Division is responsible for providing public information, support, and technical assistance to the Public, the Planning Commission, and the Board of County Commissioners. The Development Review Division works with applicants to process land use applications in accordance with the Weld County Code. In addition, the Division processes Improvements Agreements (IA), Non-Exclusive License Agreements, Road Acceptance applications, as well as oversees the Highway Users Tax Fund (HUTF) program and implements any special projects as requested by the Commissioners.
Storm Water Management
The Development Review Division is responsible ensuring safe, effective collection, conveyance, and storage of storm water runoff in a non-damaging and non-life threatening manner.
Additional stormwater management duties include: protection of the overall water quality of the County’s water resources and ensuring compliance with all applicable water quality regulations related to storm water runoff, including the Clean Water Act Phase II (MS4) Program. Weld County has adopted the Urban Drainage Stormwater Criteria with an addendum to address Weld County specific issues.
An Improvements Agreement is a contract submitted during the development review process to ensuring proposed development improvements are constructed in accordance with approved plans, plats, and supporting documents. Sample Improvements Agreements can be found on this webpage.
